Opalescence and Take Home Kits
Anchor Point, serving Homer and Kenai Peninsula, Alaska
Opalescence tooth whitening is an affordable and convenient, clinically proven teeth whitening solution offering excellent results for creating the perfect white smile. Even better, Opalescence works to increase the mineral content of your tooth enamel for greater strength and durability, and does not cause the degree of sensitivity some patients face with other bleaching methods.
Opalescence effectively decreases tooth discoloration caused by:
- Genetics
- Lifestyle
- Teeth trauma
- Aging
- Some medications
Teeth whitened with Opalescence remain whiter and brighter for years.
If you’re planning on additional cosmetic dentistry procedures such as porcelain veneers or porcelain crowns, whitening your discolored teeth with Opalescence prior to these procedures is recommended.
How It Works
The Opalescence teeth whitening system uses a hydrogen peroxide-based bleaching gel and takes about an hour to complete in Dr. Bartley’s office. The active ingredient in Opalescence, carbamide peroxide, is recognized by the FDA as an excellent tooth whitening product, and is an effective oral antiseptic. It also contains fluoride, well known for its tooth strengthening properties, leaving your mouth looking great and feeling fabulous. Opalescence comes in a variety of strengths and flavors, and Dr Bartley can recommend the best option for you in the pleasant surroundings of our comfortable office in Anchor Point.
Once your in-office treatment is concluded, Dr. Bartley will provide you with an Opalescence whitening kit to use at home, keeping your teeth white and bright and looking their best.
Lasting Whiteness
A little extra attention to oral care at home can help to keep your pearly whites gleaming:
- To avoid sensitivity while using bleaching trays, brush your teeth with Sensodyne or a similar toothpaste
- After bleaching, rinse with an oxygenating oral rinse rather than an alcohol-based mouthwash that might reduce the effect of the bleach
- Floss regularly to prevent or reduce tooth decay
- Reduce wine, coffee, and tea drinking.
- Quit smoking.
